The safety of South Dakota food supply is dependent on healthy livestock – and the health of our animals is integral in the work of our farmers and ranchers across the state.

In South Dakota, farmers and ranchers partner with the South Dakota Animal Industry Board and accredited veterinarians to implement vaccination programs, biosecurity measures and ongoing animal health surveillance to reduce the risk of disease on the farm, protecting both livestock and the safety of the food supply.
