Looking ahead

Posted: 1/5/2016

2016-2.jpgThe first few days of 2016 have been a whirlwind, and we're looking forward to the rest of the year. For South Dakota Farm Families, the new year brings promise and opportunity. It might seem like a long way off, but we are already starting to plan for our spring and summer activities.

This year we already have big things planned. To celebrate National Ag Week, we’ll be visiting South Dakota 4th Graders to talk about how the ingredients in a pizza get from the farm to the plate. We also have a date set for Farmers Serving Families at the Banquet in Sioux Falls (March 31), and we are excited to say we’re once again planning restaurant crawls. When the weather is warmer, we’ll be hosting open houses and bus tours on local farms. We’ll also be accepting requests from classrooms for Adopted Farmers and looking for new volunteers.

We have a busy year ahead that we promise will have lots of opportunities to get involved. You can keep up with all events on www.agunited.org or SD Farm Families on Facebook. We can’t wait to see you!
