Discussion Question

 Do you know what a grain elevator is? A regular elevator carries people up and down. What would a grain elevator do? When a truck is filled with grain it will drive to the elevator and dump out the grain. The grain is then carried by small buckets to storage and then is eventually loaded on to a train for transport. Answer the questions from the video.

1. Kara told us the combine will hold 375 bushels. Each bushel of soybeans weighs 60 pounds. How many pounds of soybeans does the combine hold?
2. The grain cart can hold 84,000 pounds. How many bushels of soybeans will the grain cart hold when each bushel weighs 60 pounds?
