Content Standard & Question

4.OA.2 Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison.

We learned that one bushel of corn is 56 pounds. If you had buckets of corn that weighed exactly the same as you how many bushels would you have? *Everybody’s answer should be different!

To solve this take your weight divided by the weight of a bushel of corn.

Ex: 110lbs / 56 lbs = 1.96 bushels
