Hi! My name is Sarah Sample, and I am the summer intern at Ag United. Currently I am attending SDSU and majoring in Animal Science, with a minors in Equine Science and Communications. I grew up on a diversified livestock operation near Kimball, South Dakota, where my family runs around 1100 sheep and 100 cow calf pairs. In high school I was very involved with 4-H, FFA, and high school rodeo. At SDSU, I am active in Ag-Bio Ambassadors, LEADSTATE, Little International, Post Secondary Ag Students and the Ag Bio Learning Community. I enjoy riding my horses and showing sheep, and this year was the Reserve Round Robin Showman at the 88th Little International at SDSU.
Being involved with FFA and 4-H in high school started my passion for educating others about agriculture. After attending the 2010 Ag Future of America Conference I decided that I wanted to make a career out of educating others about agriculture, so I contacted Ag United. As their intern, I am looking forward to working at open houses, Moms Day Out on the Farm and fairs around the state. I am also excited to educate consumers about agriculture and to tell them about my family’s farm. The main challenge of my summer? Learning to navigate in Sioux Falls!!
