The Reuvekamp family of Elkton, is hosting a tour of their farm, Hilltop Dairy, on Saturday, June 7th from 12:30 to 2:30. A bus will leave from the Swiftel Center every half hour. The tours are being held in conjunction with Dairy Fest, in celebration of June Dairy month. The free bus tours will provide participants the opportunity to see first-hand where the dairy products they enjoy get their start. Guests will also have the opportunity to win a $50 HyVee giftcard.

Wilfried and Olga Reuvekamp got their start dairying in the Netherlands.  In 2006 they purchased Hilltop Dairy LLP, and moved their family to South Dakota.  Hilltop Diary milks 2,100 cows three times a day.  In total this family run dairy farm produces 25,000 pounds of milk, or 2,900 gallons of milk each day.

“We are excited to be part of the first annual Dairy Fest, and are looking forward to teaching the area community more about our dairy,” said Olga Reuvekamp.    “It is a great opportunity for people to see how committed dairy farmers are to providing the best possible care for their cows, and the best possible product for the consumers.”
