Back to School with Adopt A Farmer!

thumb_DSC_0039_1024.jpgIt’s Labor Day, and while we have the day off it means that school is officially back in session. At Ag United we are so excited for school to start, because that means the Adopt A Farmer will be up and running again soon!

Classrooms enrolled in the Adopt A Farmer program receive monthly videos from a  local farmer about what’s happening on the farm that month. Topics range from planting, harvest, baby animals being born, to what animals eat. Students are encouraged to send their Adopted Farmer questions about what they didn’t understand in the video. In the spring the Adopted farmer visits the classroom to teach students more about their farm.

The Adopt A Farm program is open to any fourth grade classroom in the state of South Dakota. Last year we had 1,000 students participate, and we’d love it if we had even more this year!

If you are a classroom or farmer that would like to participate, fill out the form below!
